China's first brush-faced subway adopts 3D face recognition technology

2019-04-08

On April 1, Jinan Metro Line 1 opened its commercial operation. This is not only the first subway line in Jinan, but also the first subway line in China that uses 3D face recognition gates. The 3D face recognition gate is equipped with 3D sensing technology to verify passenger identity through 3D face recognition. Passengers can enter and exit the subway station simply by brushing their faces.

After entering the face information on the Jinan Metro App, the passenger only needs to align the face with the 3D face recognition device when entering the station, and can pass the gate quickly within 2 seconds. In order to facilitate passengers to brush their faces, Jinan Metro Line 1 has also opened up a face recognition channel. On the first day of the launch, many people have experienced the experience.

3D face recognition gate built-in 3D camera, the device can project 18000 scattered spots to get complete 3D face data. When the passenger passes through the face recognition channel, the 3D camera collects the 3D face feature and compares it with the face information entered in the system, and the verification will pass. In terms of safety, the 3D face recognition gate of Line 1 has a living body detection capability, which can easily identify camouflage attacks such as photos, videos and masks, and the misrecognition rate is only one in a million.

3D brush face can be intelligent traffic, face becomes a new identity ID

In the field of public transportation with huge traffic and complex environment, 3D face recognition technology can greatly improve personal identity verification and traffic operation efficiency. 3D face recognition technology first eased the problem of queuing tickets. Most of the domestic subway stations have problems such as long queues for self-service ticket purchases and cumbersome ticket purchase procedures. Nowadays, passengers only need to enter face information, and they can directly face the station.

Secondly, compared with swiping cards and scanning code, the 3D brushing face is faster and more convenient, eliminating the need for intermediate media such as mobile phones and cards, and enabling non-inductive quick access. According to the staff of Jinan Rail Transit Group, the 3D face recognition gate of Line 1 can pass 30-40 passengers in one minute, greatly improving the efficiency of subway operation.

Promote the 3D brush face technology to expand the "smart" application scenario

Nowadays, 3D face recognition technology has been gradually applied to all aspects of people's lives, and the face is becoming a new identity ID.

The 3D face recognition technology is the first commercial use in the domestic subway, marking that China's subway traffic is about to enter the era of 3D brushing, passengers will enjoy a faster and more convenient ride experience.
