Our group negotiates educational cooperation project with Dala State University of the Philippines

2019-04-23

Yesterday, our group met in Beijing with a delegation from the Dala State University of the Philippines led by Dr. Li Yili, and made preliminary exchanges with the Philippine President and Dr. Li on the educational cooperation between the two sides. During the talks, Mr. Li Jianjun, the chairman of our group, pointed out that with the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative, the educational and cultural exchange between China and the Philippines has ushered in a historic opportunity. As an important partner in the construction of the Belt and Road, the Philippines' educational philosophy and talent training methods have important implications for China's education industry, and also provide new connotations for China's global talent training and the diversified development of educational resources and methods.

The President of the Philippines elaborated on the three major teaching characteristics of the University of the Philippines: practicality, autonomy, and cooperation. In the universities of the Philippines, the school is not only a place for teachers to impart knowledge, but a "stage", which is a simulation stage for student practice. For example, in the MBA class, the teacher always plays the role of Boss. Each report of the student is a project. For a particularly good project, the teacher will directly recommend it to the enterprise. No notes or textbooks are available in class. Just listen to the teacher's points and comments, speak your own opinions and ask questions, understand, think, and find ideas. Good reports and programs are always the product of the collective, and the rational division of roles is the key to making plans. Everyone has their own strengths and their own division of labor can enhance the effectiveness of the plan; brainstorming and can come up with many good plans.

Throughout China-Philippines relations, on November 19, 2018, President Xi Jinping published a signed article entitled "To jointly open a new future for China-Philippines relations" in the "Philippine Star", "Manila Gazette" and "Daily Tribune" in the Philippines. The land has pointed out the direction for the future development of bilateral relations. In his signed article, President Xi pointed out that China and the Philippines are geographically close, close to each other, and have a good relationship with each other. People-friendly exchanges are the source of the relationship between the two countries. In this regard, the Philippine Minister of Education also stated that President Xi values the cultural exchanges between the two countries. The commonwealth of the people is indeed the link that maintains the feelings of the two peoples and is an important guarantee for the continued development of the Philippine-Chinese friendship.

The president of the education cooperation project of Dala State University and our group said: "The development of China's higher education has made remarkable achievements and achieved qualitative improvement in a short period of time. These achievements have made the Philippines counterparts very envious. The University is looking forward to cooperating with the Group to continuously improve the level of communication through various channels, learn from each other's advanced experience, and cultivate more talents who will promote mutual understanding between the two countries."
