Our group visited Cambodia with representatives of domestic photovoltaic power generation companies and real estate companies

Recently, representatives of our group visited Cambodia with representatives of domestic photovoltaic power generation enterprises and real estate enterprises, and started negotiations with local governments on some projects. This negotiation complemented the contents of previous cooperation projects between the two parties, and also conducted in-depth understanding of some new areas of cooperation. The two sides first supplemented the Sihanouk Port Construction Cooperation Project, the largest seaport city in Cambodia with the only China-Cambodia national special economic zone identified by China and Cambodia. As a prosperous city following the Phnom Penh, the Cambodian government attaches great importance to it. At present, the construction and development of tourism, transportation, ports and other aspects are developing at a rapid pace, and its rapidity is amazing.
In 2016, Sihanoukville received more than 2.4 million visitors. According to a report from the Tourism Work Conference for the first quarter of 2017, the proportion of visitors to Sihanoukville in the first quarter of 2017 increased by 11.64%. Located on the southwestern coastline of Cambodia, Westport is an extremely precious pearl. As an emerging island tourism hotspot, its island is as quiet as paradise, and there are French-style buildings, all attracting more tourists, which has led to the development of local real estate. China's well-known real estate companies have rich experience in real estate development and are willing to provide comprehensive development support for real estate projects for the Cambodian government, including commercial real estate, hotel and entertainment real estate projects.
Followed by solar photovoltaic projects, Cambodia is quite suitable for the development of solar energy, emphasizing that solar panels to generate sustainable energy is a viable way to achieve energy independence in Cambodia. The physical composition of Cambodia makes it suitable for the development of photovoltaic energy of approximately 135,500 square kilometers of land. From 2012 to now, Cambodia has only two solar pilot projects. According to the Cambodian Skynet report, the report assesses the potential for bioenergy, wind and solar energy development in Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia. According to the report, “Cambodia has ample solar energy resources to develop solar energy as a basis for competition, especially in rural areas where there is no grid in many places to develop solar energy.”
Then there is the wind power project, which the Chinese government promised to help Cambodia build solar and wind power plants to solve the problem of Cambodia's “electricity shortage”. As Cambodia is currently affected by the world's climate change, China's hydropower projects that are aided by the Kyrgyz Republic of Cambodia may face water shortages, causing problems in demand for electricity in Cambodia. To this end, the Chinese government is committed to helping Cambodia build solar and wind power plants. Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister He Nanfeng expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for its intention to help Cambodia develop solar and wind power plants in the future. He pointed out that solar and wind power projects will play an important role in the development of Cambodia.
The two sides also discussed the solid waste treatment and waste-to-energy projects. We proposed that we can establish solid waste treatment parks and industrial wastes for recycling. We have received strong support from the Cambodian government. The Cambodian government indicated that it will follow suit. Further negotiations are proposed. I hope that with the strong support of the various departments of the Cambodian government and with the joint efforts of all of you, we can have further diversified cooperation with Cambodia.
